Mystery & Adventure
For secrets, danger, and stories that keep you guessing.
An independent bookstore · Delafield, Wisconsin
An independent bookstore for dreamers, storytellers, and anyone who would rather be somewhere fictional. This is a rebellion against scrolling, against rushing, against the itch to always be somewhere else. Pull up a chair in our shop and stay as long as the story needs you to.

How the reading room works →The name is the whole idea
Bold yet soft.
Ornate yet simple.
Delicate yet dark.
Rebel is the wild edge: the underlined passage, the story that talks back. Rosewood is the softness underneath — the worn armchair, the candle, the quiet hour with a book that enthralls you. Every reader carries both halves, and so does every good story.
The reading room
No other shop in Lake Country makes this offer. Find a cozy spot, take in the new book smell, and read as much as you need before you decide anything. The whole room is yours to sink into, however long that takes.
Three house rules, and that is all: pull one off the shelf, sit as long as you like, and only take it home if you love it.
We also keep a small used book section — bring in your gently-read titles and get a discount on your same-day purchase of new books.
For secrets, danger, and stories that keep you guessing.
For stories that have earned their place on the shelf.
For longing, love, and a little bit of trouble.
For everything in between.
For worlds beyond the one we're living in.
For becoming yourself, one story at a time.
For finding your way through the wonderfully weird years.
For where every adventure begins.
“For anyone looking to expand their classics catalog; you can always trust a Brontë.”

I opened Rebel & Rosewood because everyone deserves to have a place where they feel comfortable enough to get lost in the pages of a great story. I wanted to create a space where the quiet reader and the wild-hearted one could both feel at home, and where readers of any level could fall in love with stories time and time again.
If you're nearby, stop in and say hello. I'd love to hear about what you're currently reading. And don't be surprised if I've got my nose in a book just like everyone else. I can't wait to welcome you for your first or fifty-first visit.
